The IL-IN District Will Host a Spring Photography Show along with their Spring District Meeting

Let’s Keep it Simple, Beautiful and Fun!

Our love of roses takes many avenues; photography of roses is one of those many paths of interest. During the cold months of winter, we often pour over our winter catalogs or search the internet for new roses. How about spending some time pouring over your rose photos! Select a few or a lot of your rosey beauties and share at the spring District Meeting Rose Photography Show.

There is a knack (art or skill) in taking good photographs of roses. Although, I am no expert, one of the best tips that I can give is to take lots of pictures, practice, practice, practice and see what YOU like and what looks good to YOU. I took a photography class a few years ago, the instructor said, “it is not about the camera, any camera can take good pictures. It is more about being in the right place at the right time and knowing how to frame it.” Curtis Aumiller, National photography chair, will be giving us some expert tips to improve our techniques.

If you have any questions, there will be experienced photographers available to help answer your questions. There will be black mats available (property of the Indianapolis Rose Society) that you may borrow, or you can bring your own mats. Greg Byington is graciously building some ladders for our photo display.

Come on! Join in the fun! Enter your rose photos!
