EARTH-KIND is a special designation given to select rose cultivars by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service through the EARTH-KIND landscaping program. It is based on the results of extensive research and field trials and is awarded only to those roses demonstrating superior pest tolerance, combined with outstanding landscape performance.

In 2018, we partnered with the Earth Kind program to start an Earth-Kind Trial Garden in Normal, Il. Members Jim & Kaye Wessbecher contacted  Extension Garden Event in Bloomington,Il about working with our society to put in a trial garden.

For more information about EARTH-KIND roses  and the Texas A & M program, read on.

In 2019 society members and garden staff will start to do second year evaluations.

We are so excited to be a part of a program that brings so many easy care, sustainable and beautiful roses to the backyard gardeners.

Have questions or want to help with this garden project? Contact Jim Wessbecher here.
